Christian Dior Spring '11 Couture

This past week, John Galliano wowed the audience with his Spring 2001 couture show by bringing in the 40's glamour. Haute couture is French for 'high dress-making', and refers to the creation of well made custom made clothing. Often, couture is for people who have loads of money, but it doesn't hurt to just appreciate the beauty of the clothes.

For this particular show, there were an abundant number of floral and bow detailing, long, flowy tulled ball gowns, and colours ranged from off white creams and yellows to splashes of fuchsia, red, violet-blue as well as hunter green. As per usual, Galliano's muse Karlie Kloss opened up the show with her famed hip walk and mesmerizing stare. Make-up consisted of classic red lips with odd-looking eyebrows. Overall, John Galliano has done it again, and done it very well indeed, making the 'New Look' reborn as Dior heads back to its roots; and for that I applaud you. Amen.

On a side note, I can't tell whether John Galliano's get-up is of Elvis or a Spanish torero (bull fighter). What do you think?
Yours truly,
