Taiwanese-Canadian model Godfrey Gao is the new face of Louis Vuitton. Hailing from Vancouver, Gao is the first Asian male model to represent the coveted luxury house which specializes in leather goods. The new Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign features Gao with one of the brand's trademark Damier messenger bags in Graphite Canvas. This will be the first of many more ad campaigns for Gao as he has been dubbed the first Asian male supermodel for this gig.
Still unknown in North America, Godfrey Gao is already a household name in Taiwan starring in numerous movies and various television shows. I personally think that the aura presented in this advertisement fits the Louis Vuitton image very well. Godfrey Gao is a perfect example of a male model through his sharp jaw-line and strong forearm. It is refreshing to see another Asian making it big in the industry, and not to mention that he is CANADIAN! I am looking forward to seeing his future work.
