Au Revoir, Galliano

Fashion news becomes more shocking as the House of Christian Dior announced that they have fired him. The decision came to be after a video went viral on the internet of Galliano making inappropriate racial slurs and praising Hitler. For a person who has been a famed designer for a prestigious fashion house, it seemed extremely un-classy and ill-mannered on Galliano's part. So the final decision has been made, now what?
It has been reported that the Dior F/W 2011 RTW fashion show would still go on as slated, but who knows what will happen or who will attend. Another round circling the controversy is that Natalie Portman, who is of Jewish descent and the face of Miss Dior Cherie stated that she is 'shocked and disgusted' and 'would not want to associate herself with Galliano'. Oh, Galliano, what have you gotten yourself into? Such a shame for a very talented designer. Dior made a good decision in their part to hastily sack Galliano. Who knows what the future will hold for the fashion house. There are rumours that Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy or Alber Elbaz of Lanvin may take the reign to be the next Creative Designer for Dior. We will have to wait and see. For the time being, I doubt that Dior will suffer loss of sales due to this incident. Dior IS a fashion house that has been around for many years with a loyal clientele, and I believe that one individual should not ruin such a reputation nor following.

Yours truly,
