Oscars 2012: Cream of the Crop

The Oscars; Hollywood's most glamorous night, was held on Sunday at the former Kodak (now called The Hollywood and Highland Center) theatre. Although there were prominent best and worst dressed celebs on the red carpet, my best dressed picks included gorgeous cream-coloured, ivory, silver and nude gowns. Grammys 2012 Trends

The 54th annual Grammys took place last night, and even though it is music's biggest awards show, the tone was very sad due to the unexpected passing of Whitney Houston (RIP). Even though I missed out on watching the show, I quickly had to check up on the red carpet fashion. There were a couple of trends that I noticed, and I am impressed!

Check it out; usually known for her hardcore edgy style, R&B megastar Rihanna takes on a new image looking natural, fresh and feminine in her new Armani ads.

The People's Choice Awards took place last night at the Nokia Theatre, and I'd have to say that one star stood out from the crowd in a gorgeous dress; and not just any dress. I must add that this star is a Canadian film and television actress, and she wore a Canadian designer. Canada rules!

Every Canadian must know that the Duke and Duchess or Cambridge William and Catherine stopped by Canada for a massive 9 day tour last week. The Canadian Tour was the first overseas trip for the newlyweds, and although I was a tad bit disappointed that they didn't stop by Toronto, I was definitely thrilled of Catherine's amazing style!

The MET Costume Institute Gala was held last week and the theme was Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty in honour of the late designer who committed suicide last year. All of the celebrities, models, and top fashion figures attended the event in full style and there was no disappointment. Although there were many celebrities featured as best dressed during the night on various websites, I would like to pay tribute to the beautiful models who also attended.

Last night was an important night for Canada, as the 2011 Juno Awards were held in Toronto. It was a very special event since the Junos was celebrating their 40th Anniversary. Can you say "Oh, Canada!" My pick for the most memorable dress that evening would have to go to Canadian country songstress Shania Twain, who happened to be the 2011 inductee to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. What an honour!

Who was my best dressed pick at last night's Oscars? Halle Berry of course! Oh, I wish I had that dress! Halle Berry looked absolutely stunning at the 83rd Annual Oscars last night in a gorgeous crystal encrusted strapless tulle gown by Marchesa, and that body of hers gives it a sexy twist!

Flower Bomb

Not to be confused with Viktor & Rolf's signature fragrance, Rihanna was definitely a flower bomb at the Brit Awards held on February 15, 2011. Bursting with bright electric colour, Rihanna was an ultimate showstopper with her beautiful Christian Dior Haute Couture gown.

Midnight Star

Woah! barely recognizable, Jennifer Hudson looked phenomenal in a navy blue Versace corset dress from the pre-fall collection at last night's Grammys! Damn, if I had a body like hers, I'd totally rock that dress!

A Red Hot Vision

Mila Kunis was my best dressed pick last night at the 17th Annual SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) Awards. She was a definite stunner in a blood-orange flowy strapless chiffon gown by Alexander McQueen (My fave!) and was draped in jewels by Cartier (Her bangle was a show-stopping piece!). The belt added an extra special touch to the gown as well, which made it look like an empire waist sihoulette (mind you, empire silhoulettes look good on any body type). Mila stated that this was the most comfortable dress she's ever worn.

Wowzers...

Is it just me, or is that outfit just TOO EXTRA?!? Like it or not, Nicki Minaj stepped out in this concoction recently and I like the fact that she doesn't have a care in the world about what people think.

No words could describe how stunning Olivia Wilde looked at the 68th Annual Golden Globes held last Sunday, January 16, 2011. The sparkly tulled princess-like dress from Marchesa married with statement gold and dangerously spiked Christian Louboutin booties makes her the ultimate rock princess of the night!
